Tribute as Read by Steven Pomfrett
I would like to thank everyone for coming today to pay tribute to Dad and to offer support to mum and the family. I'd especially like to thank everyone who travelled long distances to be here. I hope all of you can join us later at St George Rowers to reminisce and share stories of the Arthur we all knew and loved.

I would particularly like to thank Garry Williams, both for his help during this time, and the kind friendship and mateship he shared with Arthur. Through Joanne and Garry’s family, Dad was able to enjoy the treasures of being a grandfather, great grandfather, and patriarch to the extended family - and a large, entertaining, loving and joyous family they are too.

I also enjoyed that Dad found Robyn such a good friend, and that she brought out the joy in his nature, and for her support.

We all know Dad as a great bloke. Committed to his family, and providing the best he could for our futures, and for Mum. He taught us much - of course in the areas of responsibility and the old attention to detail, but also with his larrikin and adventurous nature. He may have had a serious side, but it was always a loving side.

Dad had long term trouble with his heart - suffering a number of heart attacks, and enduring major surgery and pain. Mum would appreciate any donations to the heart foundation for their continued worthy work. In a way it was a blessing his final passing was quick.

It is with a sad heart that we say goodbye, and God’s blessings. He is now with his son, and my brother Mark, and all his old family mates and friends.
